What this trial studies

This study aims to translate and culturally adapt the AHEMD-SR, a questionnaire designed to evaluate the support for motor development in children aged 18 to 42 months, into French. The AHEMD-SR has been widely used in various languages to assess home environments for motor development opportunities. The study will involve a sample of parents of children with delayed motor development and a panel of pediatric rehabilitation experts to ensure the French version is both reliable and valid. This adaptation will facilitate better assessment and intervention strategies in French-speaking populations.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are parents of children aged 18 to 42 months diagnosed with delayed motor development who are receiving intensive rehabilitation.

Not a fit: Patients who do not speak French or whose children do not have delayed motor development may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this adaptation could enhance the ability of healthcare providers to assess and improve motor development in French-speaking children.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have successfully translated and adapted similar assessment tools, indicating a positive precedent for this approach.
