What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of foot core exercises combined with conventional physiotherapy in improving pain and functional performance in patients with Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS). A total of 30 participants aged 20-59 will be randomly assigned to two groups: one receiving standard physiotherapy and the other incorporating foot core exercises. The study aims to measure outcomes using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) to assess pain levels and functional capabilities. Conducted at Mersin Medikalpark Hospital, this prospective, randomized controlled trial will provide insights into the benefits of integrating foot core exercises into rehabilitation protocols for PFPS.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are active individuals aged 20-59 with PFPS experiencing anterior knee pain during functional activities for at least one month.
Not a fit: Patients with recent acute musculoskeletal injuries, balance disorders, or severely limited lower extremity movements may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce pain and improve functional performance for patients suffering from PFPS.
How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches have been explored, this specific combination of interventions is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
