Follow-up analysis of COVID-19 patients and healthy controls in China
Cohort Follow-up of Epidemic and Neuroimaging for Patients During the 1st Wave of the COVID-19 in China
This study looks at how COVID-19 affects the physical and mental health of people who had mild or moderate cases compared to healthy individuals to better understand long COVID and improve care for those at risk.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to analyze the physical and mental health impacts of COVID-19 during the first wave in China. Participants with mild or moderate COVID-19 will undergo behavioral assessments, blood sample collection, and simultaneous cortico-spinal magnetic resonance imaging at various intervals post-infection. Healthy controls will also participate in similar assessments to establish a comprehensive database of post-COVID-19 effects. The goal is to identify high-risk patients and optimize management strategies for long COVID.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with confirmed mild or moderate COVID-19 and healthy individuals who have not contracted the virus.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of central nervous system diseases or those requiring MRI studies may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help identify biomarkers and risk factors for long COVID, leading to improved management and treatment strategies.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on COVID-19 impacts, this specific approach using simultaneous cortico-spinal MRI is relatively novel.
