What this trial studies

This clinical trial investigates the effects of the fascial distortion model on pain intensity, cervical posture, and joint position sense in patients suffering from tension-type headaches. Participants diagnosed with tension-type headaches will be randomly assigned to either a treatment group, receiving fascial distortion therapy once a week for four weeks, or a control group with no intervention. Evaluations will be conducted at baseline and after the treatment period using various pain assessment scales and posture analysis tools. The goal is to determine if this novel approach can effectively alleviate headache symptoms compared to traditional methods.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 20-50 who have been diagnosed with tension-type headaches for at least six months and experience moderate to severe pain.

Not a fit: Patients with conditions such as cervical disc herniation, migraines, or those who have undergone previous physical therapy for the cervical region may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a new, effective treatment option for patients suffering from tension-type headaches.

How similar studies have performed: While the fascial distortion model is a relatively novel approach, previous studies on manual techniques for tension-type headaches have shown varying degrees of success.
