What this trial studies
This study explores the effects of family participatory nursing on reducing the uncertainty experienced by parents of hospitalized premature infants. It aims to evaluate the levels of uncertainty among parents at different stages and gather qualitative data through interviews about their feelings after receiving family participation nursing. The intervention seeks to enhance communication between parents and medical staff, thereby supporting both the emotional well-being of families and the growth and development of premature infants.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include parents of premature infants born between 32 and 37 weeks gestational age with a birth weight of 2500g or less.
Not a fit: Parents of infants with serious life-threatening conditions or those experiencing major negative family events may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce parental anxiety and uncertainty, leading to better emotional support for families of premature infants.
How similar studies have performed: While research on parental uncertainty in NICU settings is limited, similar interventions in other contexts have shown promise in improving family engagement and emotional outcomes.
