What this trial studies

This observational study aims to identify predictive factors for visual recovery in patients undergoing surgery for tuberculum sellae meningiomas. It will collect detailed preoperative ophthalmological and radiological data, as well as intraoperative information, to analyze their correlation with postoperative visual outcomes at 3, 6, and 12 months. The study focuses on understanding how various preoperative conditions may influence recovery of visual function following tumor removal.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients with a surgical indication for tuberculum sellae meningioma.

Not a fit: Patients with surgical contraindications, MRI contraindications, or other optical diseases may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help optimize surgical approaches and improve visual recovery outcomes for patients with paraoptic tumors.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been retrospective studies on prognostic factors, this prospective approach may provide novel insights into visual recovery after surgery.
