What this trial studies
This study aims to assess employee characteristics related to perceived uncivil behavior among nursing staff and its relationship with meaning and joy at work, as well as job satisfaction. Conducted at Methodist Richardson Medical Center, the study will utilize a cross-sectional design and involve a convenience sample of registered nurses and nursing para-professionals. Participants will complete an online survey via Survey Monkey® over a four-week period, with data ownership retained by the Methodist Health System. The findings may provide insights into workplace dynamics and employee well-being in nursing services.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are registered nurses and nursing para-professionals employed at Methodist Health System who provide direct patient care for more than 50% of their work hours.
Not a fit: Employees who do not provide direct patient care, such as educators, managers, and advanced practice nurses, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of workplace behavior and improve job satisfaction among nursing staff.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be studies exploring workplace behavior and job satisfaction, this specific approach focusing on nursing staff in a Magnet-designated facility is relatively novel.
