What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the experiences and perspectives of adolescents and young adults (AYA) who have survived oncological disorders regarding the right to be forgotten. It aims to assess their awareness of this right, the significance they attribute to it, and the implications they perceive in their current and future lives. By focusing on individuals who are at least five years post-diagnosis and not in active treatment, the study seeks to gather qualitative insights into the social discrimination faced by these survivors. The findings could inform legislative initiatives and support systems for AYA cancer survivors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adolescents and young adults aged 15 to 39 who are at least five years post-cancer diagnosis and not currently undergoing treatment.
Not a fit: Patients who are still in active treatment or those diagnosed with cancer less than five years ago may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of the challenges faced by young cancer survivors and support the development of policies that protect their rights.
How similar studies have performed: While the concept of the right to be forgotten is emerging, this specific focus on the AYA population is relatively novel and has not been extensively studied.
