What this trial studies

This observational study aims to investigate the relationship between healthy lifestyle behaviors, physical activity levels, and blood test results in pregnant women during their first trimester. It focuses on identifying risk factors such as maternal age, ethnicity, and lifestyle habits that may impact pregnancy outcomes. The study will involve monitoring thyroid function and liver enzymes to prevent complications, while also assessing the psychological health of participants. A multidisciplinary healthcare team will collaborate to manage the various aspects of pregnancy effectively.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 18 to 40 who are in their first trimester of a singleton pregnancy and are literate.

Not a fit: Patients with multiple pregnancies, thyroid dysfunction, diabetes, liver disease, or significant physical or mental disabilities may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved health outcomes for pregnant women by promoting healthier lifestyle choices and better monitoring of health indicators.

How similar studies have performed: While the approach of assessing lifestyle factors in pregnancy is common, this specific study's focus on the interplay of physical activity and blood tests is relatively novel.
