What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the relationship between family communication disorders and negative internet use behaviors among adolescents aged 14-25 in the post-epidemic era. Utilizing questionnaires, the research aims to gather data from a sample size of 140 participants, including both teenagers and their parents. The study is grounded in the 'loss of compensation' model, which suggests that adolescents may turn to virtual networks to cope with negative feelings stemming from poor family communication. By identifying correlations, the study seeks to provide insights that could improve parent-child relationships and promote healthier internet usage among adolescents.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adolescents aged 14-25 who are experiencing family communication disorders.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of psychiatric illness or those who are emotionally unstable and unable to communicate normally may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved family dynamics and healthier online behaviors among adolescents.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific application of the 'loss of compensation' model in this context may be novel, related studies have explored family dynamics and adolescent behavior with varying degrees of success.
