This study is trying to see how the bacteria in the mouth and vagina are connected and how human papillomavirus affects them in women.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate the vaginal and oral microbiomes by collecting swab samples from participants. In selected cases, a pap smear will also be performed to analyze the composition of the normal vaginal microbiome and the interaction between the oral and vaginal mucosa. Additionally, the study will explore the impact of human papillomavirus on the microbiome and vice versa, providing insights into their relationship.

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients visiting Turku University Hospital's Dermato-Venereology or Gynaecology Departments or family planning clinics in Southwest Finland.

Inclusion Criteria: * patients coming to Turku University Hospital Dermato-Venereology or Gynaecology Departments or to family planning clinics in The wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland for previously mentioned reasons Exclusion Criteria: * those not meeting the criteria
