What this trial studies

This study investigates the functional links between the temporomandibular joint and the pelvis in women suffering from prolapse and endometriosis-related pain. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either visceral therapy or a placebo over a five-week period, with assessments conducted before and after the intervention. Various questionnaires and physical assessments will be utilized to evaluate quality of life, pain levels, and postural patterns. The goal is to determine the effectiveness of visceral therapy in improving symptoms related to these conditions.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are female patients who have undergone surgical treatment for reproductive organ prolapse and have been diagnosed with endometriosis.

Not a fit: Patients with cancer, temporomandibular joint or pelvic injuries, fibromyalgia, or rheumatic diseases may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment options and quality of life for women suffering from pelvic and jaw-related pain.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of linking the temporomandibular joint and pelvis is novel, similar studies exploring visceral therapy have shown promising results in related conditions.
