What this trial studies

This study aims to understand the sleep patterns of adolescents suffering from persistent pain and to evaluate the effectiveness of a suggestive presleep relaxation technique in enhancing their sleep quality. The approach involves assessing the feasibility of this intervention and its impact on sleep-related emotional memory processing. Participants will be adolescents aged 15-17 who have been experiencing chronic pain for more than three months. The study will also monitor the average pain intensity reported by participants during the intervention.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adolescents aged 15-17 years who have persistent pain lasting over three months and report a pain intensity of more than 3 out of 10.

Not a fit: Patients currently taking medication for sleep or pain may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved sleep quality and pain management strategies for adolescents with chronic pain.

How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research in related areas, this specific approach to combining sleep management with pain relief in adolescents is relatively novel.
