What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate the relationship between self-compassion, depression, and quality of life among primary caregivers of individuals with dementia. Participants, who are caregivers spending at least 8 hours a day providing care, will complete questionnaires including the Self-Compassion Scale, PHQ-9 Scale, and Quality-of-Life Scale. The study will analyze differences based on background variables and explore correlations between the measured factors using statistical methods such as t-tests, ANOVA, and linear regression.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are primary caregivers of dementia patients who are 18 years or older and provide care for at least 8 hours daily.
Not a fit: Patients who are caregivers in a paid relationship with dementia patients, such as domestic helpers, will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights that enhance the well-being of caregivers, potentially leading to improved support strategies.
