What this trial studies

This observational study aims to evaluate the subjective experiences of parents who have completed parent-child psychotherapy with their children under the age of five. Through semi-structured interviews, the study will gather insights on the parents' perceptions of the therapy process, their relationship with the therapist, and any changes they observed during treatment. The focus is on understanding the parent-child interaction and the therapeutic alliance from the parent's perspective, which has been underexplored in existing literature. The findings may provide valuable information to enhance therapeutic practices in parent-child psychotherapy.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are parents who have completed parent-child psychotherapy with a child under five years old at CHU Minjoz and are fluent in French.

Not a fit: Parents suffering from severe untreated psychiatric illnesses or those whose children have autism or neurodevelopmental disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the understanding of parent experiences in therapy, leading to enhanced treatment approaches for families.

How similar studies have performed: While many studies have explored parent-child psychotherapy, this qualitative approach focusing on the parent's perspective is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
