What this trial studies
This study investigates the prevalence and factors influencing hyperalgesia in patients following thoracoscopic surgery for lung cancer. It employs a randomized controlled trial design, where participants are divided into groups receiving different interventions, including flurbiprofen axidate combined with music played through noise-canceling headphones. The aim is to assess the effectiveness of these interventions in reducing hyperalgesia post-surgery. The study is conducted at the Union Hospital affiliated with Fujian Medical University.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older undergoing thoracoscopic radical lung cancer surgery with normal hearing.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of chronic pain, previous thoracic surgery, or severe organ system diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved pain management strategies for patients undergoing thoracoscopic surgery.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific combination of interventions is novel, similar studies have shown promise in using music and medication for pain management.
