What this trial studies

This observational study surveys members of the French Handisports Federation who engage in outdoor sports to assess the impact on their well-being and self-esteem. Conducted as a national cross-sectional study, it collects data on outdoor sports activities, psychological effects, and barriers faced by participants. The survey will be distributed through the federation's communication channels, and analyses will compare responses between able-bodied and disabled members, as well as across different types of disabilities and outdoor sports. The study adheres to the MR004 methodology for data protection and anonymity.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are members of the French Handisports Federation who actively participate in outdoor sports.

Not a fit: Patients who have opted out of being contacted or are not members of the federation will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of how outdoor sports contribute to the mental health and self-esteem of disabled individuals.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored the benefits of physical activity for disabled individuals, this specific focus on outdoor sports and its psychological impact is relatively novel.
