What this trial studies
This study investigates the biobehavioral mechanisms that influence eating behaviors in mothers and their infants. It focuses on the emotional and attachment systems that affect how mothers feed their children and how these interactions relate to the children's eating habits and body weight. The research involves children who are already part of a long-term observational study, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of the mother-infant dyad's eating behaviors at specific developmental stages. Data will be collected from 120 children enrolled in the observational study.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are infants who are participants in the long-term observational study NCT06039878.
Not a fit: Patients who are not enrolled in the observational study will not benefit from this research.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding of maternal feeding practices and child eating behaviors, potentially reducing childhood obesity.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored maternal feeding behaviors, this specific approach focusing on the mother-infant dyad's emotional and attachment systems is relatively novel.
