What this trial studies

This observational study aims to investigate the epidemiology and outcomes of ocular injuries caused by fireworks during festivals in Upper Egypt. It will focus on the type and severity of injuries, as well as demographic data, complications, and final visual outcomes for patients presenting with fireworks-related eye trauma. The study will collect data from patients attending the ocular emergency unit throughout the festival season in 2024.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients who have sustained ocular injuries from fireworks during festivals in 2024.

Not a fit: Patients with non-fireworks-related ocular injuries will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve understanding of fireworks-related eye injuries and inform preventive measures and treatment protocols.

How similar studies have performed: While there may be limited studies specifically on fireworks-related ocular injuries, similar observational studies on trauma have shown success in understanding injury patterns and improving safety measures.
