What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess cardiovascular health in pregnant women using the American Heart Association's 'Life's Essential 8' indicators. It focuses on understanding how these indicators can predict pregnancy outcomes and establish appropriate cardiovascular health standards for this population. Participants will complete a questionnaire and provide specimens for analysis. The study seeks to fill the gap in data regarding cardiovascular health assessments specifically tailored for pregnant women.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are pregnant women aged 20-49 who have conceived naturally and plan to undergo routine prenatal examinations at the research center.

Not a fit: Patients who may not benefit from this study include those with pre-existing diseases affecting metabolic function, multiple pregnancies, or known fetal deformities.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved cardiovascular health assessments and interventions for pregnant women, potentially enhancing outcomes for both mothers and their children.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited application data for pregnant women regarding the 'Life's Essential 8', similar studies in other populations have shown promising results in cardiovascular health assessments.
