What this trial studies

This study investigates how different factors affect the brain's response to intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS) in healthy individuals. Using a concurrent TBS/fNIRS technique, researchers will measure cortical excitability on multiple days while assessing various inter- and intra-individual factors such as age, gender, daily mood, and physical activity. The goal is to understand the variability in neurophysiological responses to optimize the therapeutic use of iTBS.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy individuals who can understand verbal instructions and have completed at least six years of formal education.

Not a fit: Patients with current or past psychiatric or neurological disorders, severe internal illnesses, or those who are pregnant will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the effectiveness of iTBS as a therapeutic tool for various neurological and psychiatric conditions.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on iTBS, this specific investigation into the variability of responses based on individual factors is relatively novel.
