What this trial studies

This observational study aims to identify potential biomarkers that can predict how solid tumors respond to radiotherapy. Patients with pathologically confirmed solid tumors requiring radiotherapy or surgery will be recruited, and tumor samples will be collected to establish baseline biomarker status. Additionally, blood samples and microbiota will be collected before and after surgery, as well as during the course of radiotherapy for those patients. The biological specimens will be analyzed to assess tumor phenotypes and explore biomarkers that could indicate therapeutic outcomes and prognosis.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with pathologically confirmed solid tumors who are scheduled for radiotherapy or surgery and can provide informed consent.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of autoimmune diseases, prior immunotherapy, or contraindications for biopsy may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more personalized treatment plans for patients with solid tumors, improving their therapeutic outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While the exploration of biomarkers in relation to tumor response is a growing field, this specific approach may offer novel insights into solid tumors and their treatment responses.
