What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of age-related biases on biopsychosocial factors in individuals suffering from non-specific low back pain. It will be conducted in two stages, starting with the translation of back pain assessment tools into Urdu, followed by a six-month assessment of various biopsychosocial factors using these tools. The research aims to enhance understanding of how age influences the experience and treatment outcomes of low back pain, which is a prevalent condition affecting millions globally. By applying a biopsychosocial model, the study seeks to develop efficient prognostic tools for clinical practice.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are males and females aged 20-60 who have been diagnosed with non-specific low back pain for more than three months.

Not a fit: Patients with serious conditions such as neurological disorders, infections, tumors, or cognitive impairments will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved assessment and treatment strategies for low back pain tailored to different age groups.

How similar studies have performed: While the biopsychosocial model has been applied in various contexts, this specific focus on age bias in low back pain is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
