What this trial studies

This study investigates the feasibility of the Grow to Recovery program-Short Version, which is co-led by trained peers and professionals. The program aims to enhance recovery-oriented services for individuals with mental disorders in Taiwan, where peer services are still developing. Participants will include trained peer leaders and individuals with mental illness, who will engage in pre- and post-tests as well as complete questionnaires to assess the program's effectiveness. The goal is to provide more options for mental health services in Taiwan by leveraging peer support.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older with a diagnosis of mental illness for over a year, who are living in the community and can participate in group activities.

Not a fit: Patients currently attending another recovery-related group may not benefit from this program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could provide individuals with mental illness in Taiwan greater access to supportive recovery services.

How similar studies have performed: Other countries have successfully implemented peer support programs, suggesting potential for similar success in Taiwan.
