What this trial studies
This study investigates the reliability and cross-cultural validity of an evolutionarily-informed model for conceptualizing personality pathology. Psychology students from five countries (China, Italy, Poland, Spain, and the United States) will receive training on the model and apply it to patient transcripts and assessment reports. The study aims to evaluate inter-rater reliability and the acceptability of the model across different cultural contexts. By comparing assessments from various cultural backgrounds, the research seeks to confirm the model's validity on an international scale.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are undergraduate psychology students in their final year or recent graduates.
Not a fit: Patients who have left the university program during the study will not benefit from this research.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding and treatment of personality disorders across diverse cultural settings.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown preliminary success in assessing the reliability of this model, but this study aims to expand its validation across cultures.
