What this trial studies
This study aims to compare the effectiveness of various posture correction exercises in improving forward head posture (FHP) among individuals who frequently use smartphones and laptops. FHP is characterized by the head leaning forward, which can lead to discomfort and pain in the neck and shoulders. The research will involve 56 participants aged 18-40 who use their devices for at least 2-3 hours daily, performing targeted exercises over four weeks. The study will measure improvements in posture and pain levels using a standardized scale to determine the best exercise approach for alleviating FHP.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18-40 who use smartphones and laptops for at least 2-3 hours daily and have not previously received treatment for forward head posture.
Not a fit: Patients with spinal deformities, spinal injuries, existing neurological conditions, or those who are pregnant may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective exercise-based solutions to alleviate discomfort and improve posture for frequent smartphone and laptop users.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with similar exercise-based approaches for improving posture, indicating potential success for this study.
