What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effects of a 10-week exercise intervention on overall brain health in individuals with hypertension and a body mass index of 25 kg/m2 or higher. Participants will engage in either moderate or intensive exercise to determine which level is more effective in improving brain health, reducing blood pressure, and increasing the number of blood vessels in the back of the eyes. The study will utilize smartphone applications to track workout progress and outcomes. The primary focus is on assessing changes in the Brain Care Score and related health metrics.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 35-65 with hypertension and a BMI of 25 kg/m2 or higher.
Not a fit: Patients who do not have hypertension or have a BMI less than 25 kg/m2 may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve brain health and reduce hypertension in overweight individuals.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with exercise interventions aimed at improving cardiovascular and brain health, suggesting this approach is promising.
