What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of different types of physical training on motor and non-motor symptoms in individuals with Parkinson's disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Participants will engage in either high-intensity interval training, continuous aerobic training, or receive movement advice over an eight-week period. The study aims to determine the optimal exercise dose and its impact on symptoms, neuroplasticity biomarkers, and brain connectivity. Regular assessments will track changes in health and well-being throughout the intervention.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with Parkinson's disease or progressive Multiple Sclerosis who experience anxiety or depressive symptoms.
Not a fit: Patients with severe cardiovascular, pulmonary, or metabolic diseases, or those who have participated in intensive exercise programs recently may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a tailored exercise regimen that significantly improves the quality of life for patients with Parkinson's disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results for exercise interventions in similar patient populations, indicating potential for success in this approach.
