Exercise program for patients after atrial fibrillation ablation
Effects of a Concurrent Physical Exercise Program in Patients Undergoing Atrial Fibrillation Ablation on Fibrillation Burden, Cardiac Morphology and Function, Physical Fitness, Physical Activity, Body Composition and Quality of Life.
This study is testing whether a structured exercise program can help people who had atrial fibrillation ablation feel better and improve their heart health and quality of life.

What this trial studies
This clinical trial investigates the effects of a structured physical exercise program on patients who have undergone catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation at least one year prior. The study aims to evaluate outcomes such as AF recurrence, heart morphology and function, physical activity levels, sleep quality, physical fitness, quality of life, and hospitalization rates. It will also explore gender differences in response to exercise. Participants will be recruited from the Arrhythmia Unit at the Hospital Clínico Universitario Lozano Blesa in Zaragoza, Spain.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who have undergone catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation at least one year prior to enrollment.
Not a fit: Patients with severe atrial dilatation, structural heart disease, or other conditions that prevent safe participation in physical exercise may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the quality of life and health outcomes for patients recovering from atrial fibrillation ablation.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with exercise interventions in cardiac patients, suggesting potential success for this approach.
