Examining venous outflow in patients with pelvic varicosities
Study of Venous Outflow From the Lower Limbs in Patients With Pelvic Varicosities as a New Strategy for Compression Treatment of Pelvic Varicose Veins and Varicose Veins of the Lower Limb
This study is trying to see how blood flows in the legs of people with pelvic varicose veins to understand their symptoms better and find out if compression therapy helps.

What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the venous outflow from the lower limbs in patients suffering from pelvic varicosities and chronic venous disease. It aims to include 90 participants, categorized into groups based on their symptoms and conditions related to pelvic varicose veins and chronic venous disease. The study will utilize duplex ultrasound and radionuclide venography to assess venous reflux and its implications on patient symptoms. The goal is to better understand the relationship between pelvic and lower limb varicose veins and to define the role of compression therapy in these patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 18 to 40 with diagnosed pelvic varicose veins and reflux in the pelvic veins.
Not a fit: Patients who are menopausal, pregnant, or have specific vascular conditions like postthrombotic disease or May-Turner syndrome may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment protocols for patients with pelvic varicosities and chronic venous disease, enhancing their quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While there has been limited research on the combination of pelvic and lower limb varicose veins, this study aims to fill a gap in understanding and may provide novel insights.
