Examining Uterine Natural Killer Cells in Patients with Repeated ICSI Failures
Uterine Natural Killer (uNK) Cell Expression in Patients With Repeated ICSI Failures: A Multicenter Cohort Study
This study is trying to see if the activity of certain immune cells in the uterus affects the chances of getting pregnant for women who have had repeated failures with a fertility treatment called ICSI.

What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the role of uterine natural killer (uNK) cells in patients who have experienced repeated failures with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). It involves performing endometrial biopsies on participants to assess the expression of uNK cells, particularly focusing on their activity levels during the menstrual cycle. The study aims to correlate uNK cell activity with endometrial thickness and the likelihood of successful implantation. By understanding the relationship between uNK cells and implantation failure, the study seeks to provide insights into potential interventions for improving ICSI outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 20-40 who have experienced more than two failures with IVF or ICSI.
Not a fit: Patients with prior uterine surgery, immunological diseases, or those who have previously been tested for uNK cells may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved strategies for managing patients with repeated ICSI failures, potentially increasing their chances of successful pregnancies.
How similar studies have performed: While the role of uNK cells in implantation has been explored, this specific approach in relation to repeated ICSI failures is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
