Examining tick exposure and disease prevention among foresters in Alsace
Risk of Exposure and Prevention of Ticks and Tick-borne Diseases Among Foresters in Alsace (France)

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on the risk of exposure to ticks and the prevention of tick-borne diseases, particularly Lyme borreliosis, among foresters in the Alsace region of France. It aims to gather data on the prevalence of tick exposure and the associated health risks for forestry workers who are regularly in contact with tick habitats. The study will involve participants from the National Forestry Office who agree to take part and are actively engaged in forestry activities. By understanding the dynamics of tick exposure in this specific occupational group, the study seeks to inform better prevention strategies.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are foresters aged 18 and older who are regularly exposed to ticks while performing their forestry activities in Alsace.
Not a fit: Patients who do not work in forestry or are not regularly exposed to ticks will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved prevention measures and health guidelines for foresters at risk of tick-borne diseases.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on tick-borne diseases, this specific focus on foresters in Alsace is relatively novel and may provide unique insights.
