Examining the stability of chronic sinusitis
Comparison of Endotypic Stability in Various Populations With Chronic Sinusitis
This study is trying to see how different factors in people with chronic sinusitis who have surgery compare to those without sinusitis to better understand how the condition affects their health and quality of life.

What this trial studies
This observational study will compare immunologic, histopathologic, and clinical parameters between patients with chronic sinusitis undergoing endoscopic sinus surgery and a control group. It will involve 150 cases and 50 controls, measuring cytokines in nasal secretions, tissue eosinophilia, and various clinical scores related to sinusitis and quality of life. The goal is to understand the endotypic stability of chronic sinusitis and how it affects patient outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 with chronic sinusitis, with or without polyps, who are scheduled for endoscopic sinus surgery.
Not a fit: Patients with chronic illnesses or malignancies may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and management of chronic sinusitis, enhancing patient care.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored chronic sinusitis, this specific approach focusing on endotypic stability is relatively novel.
