What this trial studies

This observational study involves 30 patients aged 18-65 with chronic non-specific neck pain and 30 healthy volunteers. Participants will assess their pain severity using the Visual Analog Scale and their level of disability with the Neck Disability Index. Various psychosocial characteristics and parafunctional habits will be evaluated through standardized questionnaires. The study aims to explore the connection between masseter muscle thickness, bruxism, and oral behaviors in individuals suffering from chronic neck pain.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-65 with chronic non-specific neck pain lasting at least 3 months.

Not a fit: Patients with psychiatric or neurological diseases, or those who have undergone neck surgery in the last 6 months may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of the relationship between jaw muscle function and neck pain, potentially leading to improved treatment strategies.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored the relationship between jaw function and neck pain, this specific approach is less commonly investigated.
