What this trial studies
This observational study investigates how physical activity and adherence to a Mediterranean diet influence body composition, growth, and maturation in youth triathletes. Over three years, participants have been evaluated for body composition, diet adherence, and physical activity levels. The study aims to determine whether body composition is primarily influenced by biological maturation or by lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise. Understanding these relationships can help optimize training and improve athletic performance.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are youth triathletes who have parental consent and regularly attend physical activity sessions.
Not a fit: Patients who do not regularly participate in physical activity or have not attended body composition evaluations may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into how diet and physical activity impact the health and performance of young triathletes.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited literature specifically on youth triathletes, studies on diet and physical activity in other athletic populations have shown promising results.
