Examining the link between seminal vesicle size and sexual abstinence duration
Correlation Between Seminal Vesicle Size and Duration of Sexual Abstinence
This study is trying to see if the size of seminal vesicles in men over 45 who are having an MRI for prostate cancer is related to how long they've been abstinent from sex.

What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the relationship between the size of seminal vesicles and the duration of sexual abstinence in men aged 45 and older who are undergoing MRI for suspected prostate cancer. The study aims to gather data on seminal vesicle dimensions and their potential implications for prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment. By utilizing MRI technology, researchers hope to enhance understanding of how seminal vesicle size may correlate with prostate cancer prognosis. The findings could provide insights into the anatomical and functional aspects of male reproductive health.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are French-speaking men aged 45 and older who are undergoing prostate MRI for suspected prostate cancer.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of curative treatment for prostate cancer or those unable to consent due to legal restrictions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment strategies for patients with suspected prostate cancer.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific correlation between seminal vesicle size and sexual abstinence duration is not widely studied, MRI's role in prostate cancer diagnostics has shown promise in other research.
