What this trial studies
This study investigates the relationship between Helicobacter pylori infection and migraine occurrences in children and adolescents aged 6 to 16. It aims to determine if eradicating H. pylori can lead to improvements in migraine symptoms. The study will involve testing for H. pylori through stool antigen tests and assessing the frequency and intensity of migraine attacks in participants. By understanding this association, the study seeks to provide insights into potential new treatment avenues for pediatric migraines.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 6 to 16 who experience migraines.
Not a fit: Patients outside the age range of 6 to 16 or those with conditions such as epilepsy or autism may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to new treatment options for children suffering from migraines by addressing underlying H. pylori infections.
How similar studies have performed: While the association between H. pylori and migraines has been observed, this specific approach to treatment in children is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
