Examining the incidence of COVID-19 infections
Study of the Incidence of SARS-CoV-2 Infection in the Alpes-Maritimes Department by Analysis of the Specific Humoral and Cellular Response During Deconfinement
This study is trying to see how common COVID-19 infections are and how air pollution affects people's immune responses and health during the reopening phase after lockdowns.

What this trial studies
This observational cohort study aims to determine the prevalence and incidence of COVID-19 infections using serological and PCR tests among approximately 1000 subjects during the deconfinement phase. Participants will serve as their own controls, comparing their immune responses and epigenetic markers before and after exposure to air pollutants as economic activities resume. The study will also assess the impact of these pollutants on various health outcomes, including infectious and autoimmune events.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults who have been exposed to the public since May 11, 2020, and are informed about the study.
Not a fit: Patients who are under legal protection or unable to participate in clinical studies due to health regulations will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the relationship between air pollution and COVID-19 infection rates, potentially guiding public health policies.
How similar studies have performed: While studies on the impact of air pollution on health are common, this specific approach to linking it with COVID-19 incidence is relatively novel.
