What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the connection between physical activity levels and chronotype tendencies in individuals diagnosed with alcohol dependence. It aims to understand how circadian rhythms may influence alcohol consumption habits, particularly focusing on evening-type individuals who may be more prone to drinking. Participants aged 18-65 who have been in remission for at least one month will be recruited through various channels, and their physical activity and chronotype will be assessed using validated questionnaires. The study seeks to gather insights that could inform future interventions for alcohol dependence.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18-65 who have been diagnosed with alcohol dependence and are in remission for at least one month.
Not a fit: Patients with active psychiatric disorders or physical disabilities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into how physical activity and sleep patterns can be leveraged to improve treatment outcomes for individuals with alcohol dependence.
How similar studies have performed: While the relationship between physical activity and alcohol consumption has been explored, this specific examination of chronotype tendencies in alcohol-dependent individuals is relatively novel.
