What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the connection between selective motor control of the lower extremities and gait patterns in children diagnosed with cerebral palsy. A total of 32 volunteer participants aged 5 to 20 will be assessed using the Selective Control Assessment of the Lower Extremity (SCALE) questionnaire to evaluate their motor control, alongside the Edinburgh observational gait scale to analyze their walking abilities. Both assessments are non-invasive and observational in nature, focusing on understanding the relationship between motor control and gait.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 5-20 who have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

Not a fit: Patients with severe medical complications, recent lower extremity surgeries, or mental impairments that hinder understanding commands may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights that improve therapeutic approaches for enhancing mobility in children with cerebral palsy.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored aspects of motor control and gait in children with cerebral palsy, this specific relationship has not been extensively tested, making it a novel investigation.
