Examining how light reflects off human skin during whole-body photobiomodulation therapy
Light Reflection on Human Skin in Whole-Body Photobiomodulation Therapy: Clinical Trial
This study is testing how different skin types reflect light during a whole-body therapy using red and infrared light to see if it can be improved for everyone.

What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) on human skin by measuring the reflection of light from different skin phototypes. Participants aged 18 to 30 will be divided into three groups based on their skin type and will undergo whole-body PBMT using red and infrared light. The study aims to quantify the amount of light reflected from the skin during this therapy, which has not been previously established. The findings could provide insights into optimizing PBMT for various skin types.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy males and females aged 18 to 30 with a BMI between 18.5 and 29.9.
Not a fit: Patients with tattoos in the assessment areas, a history of skin cancer, or cognitive difficulties may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the effectiveness of photobiomodulation therapy by tailoring it to individual skin types.
How similar studies have performed: While photobiomodulation therapy has been studied, this specific approach focusing on light reflection and skin phototype is novel and has not been extensively tested.
