What this trial studies

This study investigates how individuals with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) respond to changing emotional contexts compared to healthy controls. It involves recruiting adults with PTSD due to repetitive interpersonal trauma and healthy participants who do not meet PTSD criteria. Participants will complete online questionnaires to assess their eligibility and then engage in an online experiment that tests their ability to classify emotional words and select appropriate regulatory strategies based on contextual demands.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include native Hebrew-speaking adults aged 18-65 with a diagnosis of complex PTSD or healthy individuals without PTSD.

Not a fit: Patients with psychosis, substance dependence, or neurological conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of emotion regulation in PTSD, leading to improved therapeutic strategies.

How similar studies have performed: While studies on emotion regulation exist, this specific approach focusing on context sensitivity in PTSD is relatively novel.
