What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore how cognitive and emotional inflexibility in anorexia nervosa and Parkinson's disease affects the processing of emotional stimuli and transitions between emotional states. It utilizes neuropsychological tests and self-report questionnaires to assess emotional responses in patients with these conditions. The study is grounded in established psychometric models of emotion, particularly the Affective Core Model, to better understand the nuances of emotional experiences in these disorders.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with anorexia nervosa or Parkinson's disease who can provide written informed consent.

Not a fit: Patients with other psychiatric disorders, acute infectious diseases, chronic inflammatory diseases, or other central nervous system disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of emotional processing in patients with anorexia nervosa and Parkinson's disease, potentially leading to improved therapeutic approaches.

How similar studies have performed: While the approach of examining emotional intelligence and cognitive flexibility in these specific conditions is relatively novel, similar studies have shown promise in understanding emotional processing in various psychiatric and neurological disorders.
