What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the rates of primary cesarean sections among primigravida (first-time mothers) and multigravida (experienced mothers) in Sohag and Al Balyana cities. It focuses on women who are at least 28 weeks pregnant and aims to understand the factors influencing the choice of delivery method. The study will collect data on the delivery outcomes and preferences of these women to provide insights into cesarean section practices in the region.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 18 to 45 who are at least 28 weeks pregnant, including first-time mothers and those with one previous vaginal delivery.
Not a fit: Patients who are less than 28 weeks pregnant, have a history of myomectomy or hystrotomy, or are on their fifth pregnancy or more may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help improve decision-making regarding delivery methods, potentially leading to better maternal and neonatal outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown varying success in understanding cesarean section rates, but this specific focus on the local population may provide novel insights.
