What this trial studies

This clinical evaluation involves children aged 6-12 who visit Başkent University Faculty of Dentistry for routine dental examinations. The study focuses on assessing the effectiveness of two different resin-based flowable filling materials as pit and fissure sealants in children diagnosed with molar incisor hypomineralization. Participants will undergo a thorough dental examination, and the effectiveness of the sealants will be evaluated over a 12-month follow-up period. The aim is to enhance patient comfort and reduce treatment time by utilizing self-adhesive flowable composites.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy children aged 6-12 with at least two fully erupted permanent first molars showing signs of molar incisor hypomineralization.

Not a fit: Patients currently undergoing orthodontic treatment or those with advanced dental lesions or uncooperative behavior during treatment may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved dental treatment outcomes and comfort for children with molar incisor hypomineralization.

How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, similar studies evaluating dental sealants have shown promising results in improving treatment outcomes.
