What this trial studies
This study evaluates flexible and integrated psychiatric care models (FIT) in Germany, focusing on new projects initiated after 2022 and the continuation of existing projects. It aims to determine whether FIT care provides advantages over standard psychiatric care by analyzing anonymized claims data from participating hospitals. The study compares patient outcomes from FIT hospitals with those from similar control hospitals to assess effectiveness, costs, and cost-effectiveness. The evaluation is mandated by German law to ensure that these innovative care models meet their intended objectives.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients receiving treatment in participating psychiatric hospitals and insured with the relevant statutory health insurance funds.
Not a fit: Patients who have less than one year of follow-up data available will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved psychiatric care models that enhance patient outcomes and optimize resource use.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies evaluating similar flexible care models have shown promising results, indicating potential for success in this approach.
