What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Go Sun Smart Georgia (GSSG) program in changing sun protection behaviors among outdoor workers in Southwest Georgia. The intervention involves training internal coaches at participating worksites to promote sun safety practices among employees. The study will compare sun protection practices between worksites that receive the GSSG intervention and those that are placed on a wait-list for delayed intervention. Participants will complete surveys and interviews to assess the program's impact on their sun safety behaviors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are outdoor workers employed at participating worksites who work at least 5 hours outdoors per week.
Not a fit: Patients who may not benefit from this study include individuals unable to consent, minors, pregnant women, and those who cannot clearly understand English.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve sun protection behaviors among outdoor workers, reducing their risk of skin cancer and enhancing their overall health.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown success with similar sun safety educational programs, indicating a promising approach for this intervention.
