What this trial studies
This observational cohort study focuses on patients with congenital ectopia lentis, aiming to assess their vision-related quality of life and mental health status. The study will also investigate the relationship between genetic factors and clinical outcomes, as well as analyze the metabolic profiles in the aqueous humor of these patients. Additionally, it will monitor changes in ocular biological parameters and complications following surgery in a Chinese population. The research is conducted at a single center, emphasizing the need for systematic evaluation of this rare condition.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals diagnosed with congenital lens dislocation who are aged 3 years or older.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of ophthalmic trauma, other eye diseases, or those unable to cooperate in examinations may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of congenital ectopia lentis and improve patient care and outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be limited studies specifically on congenital ectopia lentis, similar observational studies in ophthalmology have shown promising results in understanding patient outcomes.
