What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of non-surgical physiotherapy and surgical arthroscopic treatment for hip microinstability in individuals over 18 years old. Participants will first undergo six months of physiotherapy aimed at stabilizing the hip joint. If this treatment is unsuccessful, they will proceed to a diagnostic hip arthroscopy, and if microinstability is confirmed, a plication of the hip joint capsule will be performed. The study will assess hip function and adverse events through Patient-Reported Outcome Scores and strength tests at multiple follow-up points.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals over 18 years old diagnosed with hip microinstability.

Not a fit: Patients with hip osteoarthritis, severe hip dysplasia, Perthes disease, avascular necrosis of the femoral head, or those who have previously undergone hip surgery may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve hip function and quality of life for patients suffering from hip microinstability.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with similar non-surgical and surgical approaches for treating hip conditions, indicating potential for success in this study.
