What this trial studies

This prospective cohort study enrolls patients who have experienced carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning to assess the therapeutic effects of various treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy and therapeutic hypothermia. The study aims to evaluate both short and long-term outcomes, such as neurocognitive effects and mortality rates, in these patients. Additionally, it investigates complications affecting the brain and heart due to CO exposure through imaging techniques and laboratory tests, while monitoring the patients' progress regularly by participating physicians.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals who have experienced acute carbon monoxide poisoning.

Not a fit: Patients who have declined to participate in the study will not receive any benefit from this research.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment protocols and better outcomes for patients suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on carbon monoxide poisoning treatments, this specific approach evaluating multiple therapies and their outcomes is relatively novel.
